SUSTAINABILITY

Partnerships for Circularity Our approach to sustainability: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

The Plastic Industry & The Environment

As we embrace the fourth industrial revolution, companies must go beyond creating effective and attractive products—sustainability is no longer optional. Consumers are increasingly aware of environmental impact, driving unprecedented demand for eco-friendly packaging solutions.

This demand has sparked innovation, ushering in new packaging technologies that prove quality and sustainability aren’t mutually exclusive—they’re complementary.

Plastic packaging offers genuine environmental benefits: it’s lightweight and flexible, extends product shelf life, and requires less energy than alternative materials. These characteristics translate to reduced greenhouse emissions, decreased food waste, and lower shipping impacts due to its minimal weight and space requirements.

But we recognize that’s not enough. Creating recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable options is essential to minimizing plastic packaging’s environmental footprint. Our green initiative delivers exactly that.

As a company, we’re committed to continuous sustainability efforts—from our operational practices to our product offerings.

PCR /PIR laminates

SUSTAINABILITY

PCR /PIR laminates

PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) laminates are increasingly being used in sustainable packaging solutions. These laminates are made from recycled plastic materials, which helps reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste. Here are some key points about PCR laminates in recycling.

Material Composition

PCR laminates are made from recycled plastic, such as low-density polyethylene (LDPE) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). These materials are collected from post-consumer waste, cleaned, and processed into new laminates.

Environmental Benefits

Using PCR laminates significantly reduces the carbon footprint compared to using virgin plastic. For example, some PCR laminates have a carbon footprint that is approximately half that of conventional plastic made from virgin fossil fuels.

Challenges

Recycling soft plastics, like those used in laminates, can be challenging. They often require specialized recycling streams or drop-off points, which are not as widely available as recycling options for harder plastics.

Applications

PCR laminates are used in various packaging applications, including food-safe packaging with high barriers to oxygen and moisture. This makes them suitable for a wide range of products while promoting sustainability.

PCR & PIR

We actively promote sustainable packaging by incorporating up to 50% PCR and up to 80% PIR content across our product range. With a strong focus on circular packaging solutions, we support global sustainability goals and help brand owners.
